Description
The hollow is the void that nature sculpted inside the wood — the space where material withdrew to give way to form. In this sculpture, the Itaúba cavity becomes protagonist: it is the emptiness that defines the piece, not the fullness.
Brass encircles the opening like a frame of light, inviting the gaze to penetrate the wood's interior. Braided cotton connects the edges like threads of thought, creating a delicate tension between presence and absence.
Provenance
Itaúba hollow reclaimed from sustainable forest management in Mato Grosso.
