Description
The bark piece — the outer skin that protected the tree for decades — holds in its rough surface the memory of storms, winds, and seasons. In this sculpture, the Itaúba's skin is preserved as silent testimony to an entire life outdoors.
Brass punctuates the texture with subtle reflections, transforming irregularities into points of contemplation. The braided cotton thread runs through the piece like a stitch uniting times — that of the tree, the artist, and the beholder.
Provenance
Itaúba bark piece reclaimed from sustainable forest management in Mato Grosso. The bark preserves decades of environmental history.
