Description
The knot is where the tree concentrates its strength to branch out — a point of decision within the material. In this first piece of the Sculptures of Light series, the Itaúba knot presents itself in its raw power, preserving the internal tensions that nature took decades to sculpt.
Brass traces the organic form like a thread of light, revealing contours that the eye alone could not reach. The braided cotton thread embraces the piece with delicacy, creating a gesture of shelter — like hands cradling what the forest offered.
Provenance
Reclaimed Itaúba wood from sustainable management in Mato Grosso. Collected by the artist and worked in her studio in São Paulo.
