Description
The root is the beginning of everything — and also what remains when all else is gone. In this piece that closes the first series, the Itaúba root emerges as a gesture of revelation: what was buried, invisible, silently sustaining life above, now shows itself in all its complexity.
The root's branching creates a three-dimensional web that brass traces like veins of light. The braided cotton closes the series' cycle, connecting the last piece to the first in a circular movement, like nature itself.
Provenance
Itaúba root reclaimed from sustainable forest management in Mato Grosso.
